The Ramalingeswar Nagar is named after the Ramalingeswara swami temple present on the Yanamalakuduru hill. Both the regions are well known. The Ramalingeswara swami temple is believed to be the second most famous temple in Vijayawada after the Kanaka Durga Devi temple. The celebration of Maha Sivaratri is well known in this region. A rich three day celebration, which is undoubtedly a feast for the eyes to the visitors. The temple lies near to the river.

The Avanigadda bypass passes through this area. This region is six kilometers away from the city and is the 14th division of Vijayawada.
